Gary Striewski of ESPN fame joins the RDS Automotive Group bringing you complete coverage of each practice day ahead of the 99th running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Wednesday, June 23rd saw the Time Attack 1 Class practicing the upper section of the mountain early in the morning. Competitors started at Glen Cove before passing Bottomless Pit and finishing off with three, back to back hairpin turns to reach the 14,000ft summit. Weather conditions were dry and cloudy at the summit with 10-15 mph winds accompanying temperatures in the mid 40s. Unfortunately, David Donohue was unable to practice today with his Porsche GT2 RS Clubsport back at the garage for repairs. David hopes to be back on the mountain tomorrow as the Time Attack 1 Class faces qualifying. Results from the other drivers in his class saw Rhys Millen on top with a time of 02:25:40 in his Bentley Continental GT3 and Romain Dumas not far behind clocking in at 02:38:5 in his Porsche 11 GT2 Clubsport. Check back in tomorrow as we recap their practice session at the bottom of the mountain and share qualifying results.
