Maserati GranTurismo

The Maserati GranTurismo range, comprising the GranTurismo, GranTurismo Sport and the track-focused GranTurismo MC Stradale, blends high performance with exotic Italian design and renowned luxury. Mere figures can neither reveal the fascination of GranTurismo nor describe the distinct personality of each variant. To feel the Maserati passion you have to drive one.

In 1914, the Maserati brothers teamed up to build the perfect race car. Their contemporaries were individuals such as Ferdinand Porsche, the Bentley Brothers and later Enzo Ferrari – car aficionados and race drivers. All of them made luxury sports cars out of race cars, which became the impetus for the birth of the GT segment. Maserati represents racing success in all classes and the most famous races and championships – from Targa Florio, Indianapolis, F1 Championship and FIA GT to the Maserati Trofeo MC of today.

The Maserati GranTurismo was born to be the ultimate grand tourer with its endearing lines and engineering concept stretching back to the elegant Maserati A6 1500GT of 1947. The A6 has become the father of the Maserati GT bloodline, reflecting a luxury coupé with a Pininfarina body mated to an engine borrowed from a race car. The legacy of the GT ambition and pedigree continues to define the Maserati cars of today.

Today’s GranTurismo range offers peerless, performance luxury in daily commuting, on long trips or for more committed, sporting drives. The sporty stance and classic GT silhouette of the 4-seater tell of its 100-year heritage of famous Maserati race and road cars – a true design masterpiece by Pininfarina.

The three variants feature two powerful, naturally-aspirated V8 engines hand-assembled by Ferrari in Maranello giving the GranTurismo range its characteristic eager throttle response and free-revving characteristics.

The 405 hp GranTurismo features a fascinating 4.2-litre V8 engine combined with a smooth, hydraulically-operated, automatic 6-speed gearshift. The V8 of the GranTurismo Sport is larger at 4.7-litres, outputting 460 hp, and offers a choice of either the fully automatic 6-speed gearbox (MC Auto Shift) or the more race-focused, electro-actuated 6-speed auto unit (MC Shift). The 460 hp GranTurismo MC Stradale completes the top end of the GranTurismo range as a street version of the Trofeo MC race car providing a racing experience for four adults.

The sports exhaust with bypass valves creates the exhilarating Maserati sound. The front-mid sports car layout, rear-biased weight distribution and double wishbone suspensions, the hydraulic steering box, Brembo brakes and limited slip differential create the razor-sharp handling of a true sports car.

The GranTurismo range offers on-road luxury with its spacious interior with four comfortable individual seats, Poltrona Frau® Leather and drilled Alcantara depending on model, perfect ergonomics and easy-to-use interfaces. Clients can express their individual style with custom-made seat upholstery, coloured brake calipers and more personalization possibilities.

2018 Maserati GranTurismo Side View

The pure Grand Tourer

The GranTurismo Sport and the GranTurismo MC each put a world of beautifully resolved contradictions in the palm of your hand.

2018 Maserati GranTurismo Front

Extreme expression

The striking front end of the GranTurismo has been completely restyled for 2018. It is dominated by a new, deeply cut oval front grille that proudly bears the Maserati Trident in chrome. The Trident’s bold red detailing is a tradition reserved only for the most powerful Maserati models.

The Sport version features an elegant new trim for the steeply raked bi-xenon headlights with Adaptive Light Control.

Bold and beautiful

The most striking exterior feature of the GranTurismo MC is its optional lightweight carbon-fiber hood. This masterpiece of aerodynamic styling features an aggressive central air intake and two large air vents, modeled on those of the GranTurismo MC Trofeo racecar.

The comfort of total control

Apart from aesthetics, the front spoiler, side skirts and slots in GranTurismo’s revised front bumper perform an important aerodynamic function, working together to maximize downforce at high speeds while providing additional cooling for the front brakes.

Refinement in the raw

The interior of the GranTurismo MC presents a compelling mix of functional motorsports innovation, abundant comfort and progressive technology. The front sport seats have optional carbon-fiber backs while also featuring the luxurious contrast of optional Poltrona Frau™ leather and Alcantara.

2018 Maserati GranTurismo Interior

Everything connects

The GranTurismo interior picks up on the dynamic themes of the exterior—with fine-tuned luxury and a sense of boundless potential. Details like soft, tactile Alcantara trim on the backs of the gearshift paddles elegantly invite the driver to exploit the full power of Maserati’s formidable 4.7-liter V8 engine.

The GranTurismo models feature a newly designed dashboard and clock, as well as the latest 8.4-inch Maserati touchscreen infotainment system. Exquisite materials include Poltrona Frau™ leather, and Dark Chrome and Eco Chrome detailing on the doors and quarter panels.

Excellence in comfort

The GranTurismo is a genuine grand-touring automobile, offering ample seating for four adults. Thanks to its Easy Entry system, access to the rear seats is particularly convenient: Both front seats slide forward and back electrically, providing plenty of room whether passengers are getting in or out. Two individually profiled rear seats, along with spacious head- and legroom, a central pull-down armrest, two cupholders, courtesy lights and a pair of climate-control vents also offer excellent comfort.

No boundaries

Maserati’s racing heritage becomes apparent the moment the driver sits behind the wheel, and the sensation is even greater inside the GranTurismo Convertible MC. With the roof down, it feels like the sky’s the limit.

2018 Maserati GranTurismo Convertible Dashboard

 2018 Maserati GranTurismo Convertible Headrest

An uncompromising step forward

The striking dashboard immediately captures the eye with its new design, featuring a V-shaped focal point. With the roof lowered, the interior blends beautifully with the lines of the exterior bodywork. When the roof is raised, a thermal glass rear windscreen helps assure that the car remains a joy to drive, whatever the weather.

Onboard sophistication

The wraparound sport seats of the GranTurismo Convertible echo the elegant lines of the car’s exterior, while providing the extra support needed for bold, confident driving. The iconic Maserati logo is elegantly embroidered on the integrated headrests. The three-spoke sport steering wheel features a heavily profiled grip and multifunction buttons, while the top and bottom of the rim are flattened to offer even greater focus and precision when driving.

At your command

Compact and lightweight, the 4.7-liter V8 engine fitted to all GranTurismo models develops 454 hp, 384 ft-lb of torque and revs to an impressive 7,500 rpm.

And, of course, it emits the legendary sound that only comes from a naturally aspirated, V8 engine by Maserati.
